We’re going away tomorrow. Early and for ten days. Last night, I envisioned our early evening today as relaxed and confidently prepared, ready to go in the morning with just a few small tasks to do in consideration of the cat/house sitter.

This morning, I got up and pulled my suitcase out from under the bed. Since then, I have:

  • Cleaned the fridge
  • Reorganized my bookshelf
  • Sorted through all the products in my bathroom cupboards
  • Face mask
  • Eye mask
  • Lip mask
  • Caught up on So Divine! podcast
  • Read the beginning of four different books to make sure I’ll like the ones I pack

You get the drift.

I’ve also set up a laundry basket and casually tossed bits and pieces of things-to-be-packed into it as I think of them.

One might have thought that I’d made progress in this department recently. One would be very, very wrong. It’s kind to back to square one. I’m not sweating it, though. I’m still attached to my enjoyable evening fantasy and I’m determined to make it happen.

I really enjoyed the Canucks Diwali celebrations last night. I got there early and took it all in: the food, the mehndi, The diya painting. Now I just want to learn to dance like the intermission performers did and to try my hand at henna application, too.

A photo collage…

And the hockey game was pretty good, too!
